Basic Colonoscopy Training Course
Overview:
This 2-day comprehensive course provides a practical introduction to colonoscopy, designed for young trainees with experience in basic upper endoscopy and preparing to undertake colonoscopy training.
This learning experience that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice.
Participants will receive hands-on experience through Next-generation colonoscopy simulators, allowing them to develop essential skills in a controlled environment.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will:
1. Understand the principles of diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy.
2. Become familiar with patient preparation protocols, including indications and contraindications.
3. Gain knowledge about the design, function, and set-up of endoscopic equipment.
4. Develop proficiency in handling and controlling the colonoscope, including torque steering and loop reduction techniques.
5. Master the principles and techniques for colonoscope insertion and withdrawal to maximize mucosal visualization.
6. Understand current colonoscopy surveillance guidelines.
7. Become familiar with colonoscopic accessories and interventions, such as polypectomy and hemostasis.
8. Explore the integration of AI technologies, including computer-aided detection, polyp characterization, and polyp sizing tools, to enhance polyp detection, characterization, and overall procedural efficiency.
