Membership of the Lithuanian Society of Gastroenterology

The Lithuanian Society of Gastroenterology (LGD) brings together professionals and organisations working in the field of gastroenterology who seek to contribute to the advancement of gastroenterology research and clinical practice and to strengthening the professional community.

Membership types

LGD offers three types of membership.

Main category

Full member

Who can become a full member?
  • doctors holding a valid medical licence;
  • other professionals regularly engaged in clinical or research work in the field of gastroenterology;
  • healthcare institutions, companies and organisations that support LGD’s activities.
Rights of full members
  • participate in LGD’s activities;
  • vote at the LGD General Meeting of Members;
  • elect and be elected to all LGD governing bodies;
  • exercise other rights provided for in the LGD Statutes.
Membership fees
Full members pay a joining fee and an annual membership fee.
How to become a full member

Submit an application to the President of LGD together with the documents specified on the website. Applications may be submitted:

Proof of payment of the joining fee and annual membership fee must also be submitted.

A decision on admission is made within 14 working days, and the applicant is notified of the decision within 5 working days.

Associate member

Who can become an associate member?
  • trainees;
  • researchers;
  • healthcare professionals working in fields related to gastroenterology;
  • doctors who are not actively practising (e.g. those who do not hold a valid medical licence or whose licence has been suspended);
  • pharmacists;
  • other natural or legal persons who provide financial support to LGD or otherwise contribute to its activities.
Rights of associate members
  • participate in LGD’s activities;
  • contribute to LGD’s areas of activity.
Important
  • do not pay a membership fee;
  • do not have voting rights.
How to become an associate member

Submit an application to the President of LGD:

A decision on admission is made within 14 working days, and the applicant is notified of the decision within 5 working days.

Honorary member

Who can become an honorary member?

Distinguished specialists in the field of gastroenterology from Lithuania and abroad, as well as individuals who have made a significant contribution to LGD’s activities and the achievement of its aims and objectives.

Honorary membership is conferred by a decision of the LGD General Meeting of Members.

Rights of honorary members
  • have voting rights;
  • exercise other rights provided for in the LGD Statutes;
  • do not pay a membership fee.
